Going Camping

We're back with a look at the past week for the Wildcats Training Camp, which had 2 games vs Isles and one vs Titan going 0-1-2. We also had a few cuts getting the roster down to our 2 goalies, 9 D and 14 Fwds. Likely to see another trade/cut on D as well maybe one more in the forward group. 
We also continued our preview of the Maritimes Division with a chat with Jonathan Roy about the Titan and as well color voice of the Islanders Cory Arsenault to discuss their camp and the start of the retool on the Island.
We're off for Labour Day this week as the Wildcats are off, and then we're back on Sept 14th with a preview of the Eagles and Mooseheads.

Season 6 Premier

We are back for Season 6 of the Wildcast Podcast, and it's goooood to be back with all our #Fanistners
We recapped our summer break, talked about News in the Q including the World Juniors groups that will be here and in Halifax. 
We had former Wildcats scout Scott Gordon join us, Scott was the scout for the Wildcats in their 2 President Cup winning seasons and has stayed in the scouting game and is now with the SJHL Weyburn Red Wings. 
We also got into our preseason Maritimes Division Preview, and we started off with the 2022 Memorial Cup Champion SJ Sea Dogs with Jamie Tozer from Station Nation, where we covered all the changes including behind the bench. 
Finally, we went camping and talked about the Wildcats Training Camp, and some of the surprises and so far just overall thoughts on the camp, including 20 yr old battle within the D core.

Season 5 Finale

We made it to the end, which means you made it to the end of the season, we look ahead to training camp and the preseason, as well who we think will have a big impact or maybe need a big camp this August. 
We always try to have a special guest for the finale and this year was no different, as we were very pleased to be joined by Moncton Wildcats bus driver Bernie Hache making his podcast debut and a little insight into the behind the scenes of the man who gets the team to the road games!

Post Draft Show

We're back for the 2023 QMJHL Post Draft episode, and there was quite a bit of news to cover!
We were joined by Nic Riopel of Propulsion Agency to discuss the QMJHL draft  as a player rep during a busy 2 nights, and he talks about the players that went (including one to the Wildcats) as well as the process for the undrafted guys getting invites to NHL development camps. 
We discuss the Wildcats draft, which included a trade for a 20yr old before the draft as well as a night 1 trade in which the Wildcats got into the 1st round! We take a look at what seemed to be a common theme in the draft and FA which is SIZE!

PreDraft Episode 2

Back for the Final Pre Draft Episode this week to get you set for the QMJHL Draft that takes place virtually July 4-5!
We recap the QMJHL Finals as the Cataractes defeat the Islanders 4-1 to win the President Cup and will head to the Memorial Cup in SJ. 
We had the pleasure of being joined by Wildcats Head Scout Alex Gauthier to discuss getting back to scouting and the process of what they're looking for and putting together a draft board. 
As well we had a debut of a new guest, we had the pleasure of being joined by Brayden Olafson from Pucks Prep Eastern Canada Network to get his view on same names in this class, and some potential names to pay attention for the Wildcats!
Finally we finish of this draft episode with our First Round Mock Draft (not sure on the order) but we go back and forth making selections, and Jeremy gives you some names for the Wildcats early in Round 2!

QMJHL PreDraft Show 1

We're back for our annual QMJHL Pre Draft show, but first we had to settle the Battle of Alberta Debt and then we answered some of the #Fanistners questions. 
As well it was good to be back in the studio after a week break to enjoy some travel as well the QMJHL President Cup Final has begun and the the Islanders are down 2-0 after some controversy!
 Couple Guests this week as Jamie Tozer (host of Station Nation) joined us to talk all things SeaDogs as they have another new head coach and are getting ready for the Memorial Cup and Pat McNeil (Cape Breton Eagles PxP voice) joining us to talk about the upcoming draft as the Eagles won the lottery and will select 1st overall at the QMJHL Draft!
We're back for one more show, then off for 2 weeks but back just in time for the QMJHL Draft Monday July 4th and Tuesday July 5th

Season Review Part 1

We're coming to the end of the Podcast season, but this week it's the Wildcats Season Review (Part 1). 
We get into a Battle of Alberta as the Flames and Oilers get into it in Round 2, so naturally we have to have a jersey bet, as well talk Round 2 of the #QPlayoffs 
We did the player report cards for the Goalies and Defense, which of course took a little bit of time

Playoffs Are Over

Just like that the Wildcats run to the President Cup is over, as they were swept by the the Charlottetown Islanders. 
The Wildcats weren't ready for playoff hockey, and the Islanders showed another gear in the 3 games and weren't really tested. This team showed heart all season and we're proud of the effort but they just ran into a goliath in round 1.

Playoffs ARE HERE!!

We've made it, through 68 games, and now it's time to get excited for the playoffs with our Playoff Preview!
We went through the playoff schedule giving our picks for each series, didn't see many upsets, few sweeps and then we got into the Wildcats/Islanders series. It's not going to be an easy series as these division rivals leave nothing left to the unknown!
We had a "View from the other bench" with Nick Marek of the Portland Winterhawks to talk Eastern Conference and Guy Flaming of the Oil Kings to talk Western Conference in the WHL Playoffs
