Quebec Road Trip

Wildcats got the first road trip out of the way this past holiday weekend. The Cats went 1-2 over the weekend, losing to Sherbrooke and Shawinigan before beating Drummondville on the Thanksgiving Sunday. 
Does this team have an early season discipline problem? Adam and Jeremy seem to think so, as well was the weekend as bad as it seemed? The Wildcats have a 4 game homestand coming up starting Saturday (Pink in the Rink) vs Isles & Sunday vs Mooseheads, so we look ahead to those games.

Opening Weekend Split

WILDCATS HOCKEY IS BACK!! It was home opening Sunday in Moncton as it didn't disappoint...well in terms of the activities!
Saturday started with another Memorial Cup Banner Night spoiled as the Wildcats move to 3-0 in those games getting a 4-1 victory over SJ, where the stars were the starts. 
Sunday however, well it started off with bang, before ultimately falling to the Titan 5-3 in the home opener, dropping the home opener for the 3 straight year. Some ups and down from the past weekend. 
We look ahead to a tough 3 in 3 in Quebec as the Cats head to Shawinigan-Sherbrooke & Drummondville over the Thanksgiving Weekend

Hockey is Almost Here

Well, at least it was delayed for Covid. Hurricane Fiona came through the Maritimes this weekend so that means no games through the Maritimes Division involving the Mooseheads-Isles-Eagles-Wildcats. 
News and notes from around the Q
We get into a small preview as the Wildcats NOW open the season in SJ for banner raise night and then the home opener is Sunday vs Bathurst. How will the goalie starts shake out in the first 5 games?!
With no hockey to recap, we figured it was a perfect time to have a interview we have been trying to get for a while now, and that's from Eastlink TV Mavs Gillis to talk about his time at Eastlink, and NJPW among other things!

Wildcats Season Preview

WE DID IT, WE MADE IT through the preseason and it all counts for real. The Wildcats finished up the preseason with 3 straight wins so what is our level of expectaions for the this club this season. 
We look at who will take a big step forward this season, as well are we worried about special teams? Who will be the Wildcats RoY, leading scorer and MVP.
We take a quick look around the QMJHL and talk divisions titles, we are synced with the MVP but who is in that discussion as well, and who do we have in the President Cup?
We take a view from the other bench as we have a chat with 5 year former Wildcat Jacob *Jabob Stewart as we talk about his time here and now looking forward to St FX year.

NS Preview

We are BACKas the QMJHL Preseason resumed this past week, just not on YouTube as Boucher was out of town this week but the Wildcats final roster was decided this past week. 
The Wildcats went 2-0 over the weekend with victories over Titan and Islanders, will special teams be an issue this season like it was last year, and who will QB the PP2?
We also take our final look at the other teams in the Maritimes Division as we had Willy Palov on the show to take a look at the Mooseheads, as well Pat McNeil to chat about the much improved Eagles.

Going Camping

We're back with a look at the past week for the Wildcats Training Camp, which had 2 games vs Isles and one vs Titan going 0-1-2. We also had a few cuts getting the roster down to our 2 goalies, 9 D and 14 Fwds. Likely to see another trade/cut on D as well maybe one more in the forward group. 
We also continued our preview of the Maritimes Division with a chat with Jonathan Roy about the Titan and as well color voice of the Islanders Cory Arsenault to discuss their camp and the start of the retool on the Island.
We're off for Labour Day this week as the Wildcats are off, and then we're back on Sept 14th with a preview of the Eagles and Mooseheads.

Season 6 Premier

We are back for Season 6 of the Wildcast Podcast, and it's goooood to be back with all our #Fanistners
We recapped our summer break, talked about News in the Q including the World Juniors groups that will be here and in Halifax. 
We had former Wildcats scout Scott Gordon join us, Scott was the scout for the Wildcats in their 2 President Cup winning seasons and has stayed in the scouting game and is now with the SJHL Weyburn Red Wings. 
We also got into our preseason Maritimes Division Preview, and we started off with the 2022 Memorial Cup Champion SJ Sea Dogs with Jamie Tozer from Station Nation, where we covered all the changes including behind the bench. 
Finally, we went camping and talked about the Wildcats Training Camp, and some of the surprises and so far just overall thoughts on the camp, including 20 yr old battle within the D core.

Season 5 Finale

We made it to the end, which means you made it to the end of the season, we look ahead to training camp and the preseason, as well who we think will have a big impact or maybe need a big camp this August.

Post Draft Show

We're back for the 2023 QMJHL Post Draft episode, and there was quite a bit of news to cover!
We were joined by Nic Riopel of Propulsion Agency to discuss the QMJHL draft  as a player rep during a busy 2 nights, and he talks about the players that went (including one to the Wildcats) as well as the process for the undrafted guys getting invites to NHL development camps. 
We discuss the Wildcats draft, which included a trade for a 20yr old before the draft as well as a night 1 trade in which the Wildcats got into the 1st round! We take a look at what seemed to be a common theme in the draft and FA which is SIZE!

PreDraft Episode 2

Back for the Final Pre Draft Episode this week to get you set for the QMJHL Draft that takes place virtually July 4-5!
We recap the QMJHL Finals as the Cataractes defeat the Islanders 4-1 to win the President Cup and will head to the Memorial Cup in SJ. 
We had the pleasure of being joined by Wildcats Head Scout Alex Gauthier to discuss getting back to scouting and the process of what they're looking for and putting together a draft board. 
As well we had a debut of a new guest, we had the pleasure of being joined by Brayden Olafson from Pucks Prep Eastern Canada Network to get his view on same names in this class, and some potential names to pay attention for the Wildcats!
Finally we finish of this draft episode with our First Round Mock Draft (not sure on the order) but we go back and forth making selections, and Jeremy gives you some names for the Wildcats early in Round 2!
